Laqlouq Dam and Lake

The lake of the Laqlouq dam in the Jbeil Caza will serve to provide the increasing needs, especially in drinking water during the summer months of the localities surrounding the project site.

The majority of the agglomerations will be supplied with potable water by gravity. This lake of 550,000m3 capacity will assure the security of the potable water supply by gravity for the localities situated at a level lower than 2000.

* Project works included the design of a rockfill dam 35m high & 560m long, impounding approximately half a million cubic meters of water. * Ancillary works included a spillway, a water treatment plant with a capacity of 5,000m3/day, transmission lines and a pumping station. * Design of access roads to the Dam surrounding area and to the different water facilities.
